The TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) is a multi‑company hiring gateway for fresh graduates. It evaluates candidates on cognitive ability, programming logic, and advanced coding. The typical recruitment stages are:

3. Step‑by‑Step Application Process (IT Skill Selection)
Step 1 – Register on TCS NextStep
Go to nextstep.tcs.com. If you are a new user, click Register Now.
Step 2 – Select Category & Skill
- Choose “IT” as the category (do not select “BPO”).
- Fill in personal details, educational info, and upload photograph/signature.
- In the “Skills” section, select relevant skills like Java, C++, Python, etc.
Step 3 – Apply for Drive
After registration, log in using your CT/DT reference ID. Click ‘Apply For Drive’ and choose the In‑Centre mode. Select three preferred test centres.
Step 4 – Confirm Status
Go to ‘Track Your Application’. The status should show “Applied for Drive”.

The test is divided into two mandatory parts. Total duration: 190 minutes.
